Recent News: The Audubon Society’s mission is to promote community interest in enjoying, learning about, and taking care of our natural environment. Recently two of our members, Jeanne Marie Maher and Christine Sheridan, acted on this mission on the local scale. They attended the Sept. 8, 2016 Nashua planning board meeting that considered implementing plans for the development of 120 acres of Southwest (SW) Park  (aka Yudicky Farm). This is an area long known to birders for its rich diversity of bird life.  During the meeting, local residents, mountain hikers, birders, and hikers all raised concerns above the development and when the vote was taken, the city planners decided to let the SW land remain as is – a  natural “jewel” for the city.
